The meeting was called to order at 7:45 pm .

The minutes for the May meeting were approved as amended and will be reposted to the PTSA website.

Treasurer's Report:  The treasurer reports that all expenditures have been met to date.  All line items requesting money have been paid.  The new budget will be brought to the board of director's meetings this summer to determine funding priorities.  Total balance in the accounts as of June 1 is $20,275.38.

Principal's Report:  Mr. Gainous has contracted with "Mural on the Wall" to paint several large murals in the hallways and in the gym.  He saw the work of the artist at a state conference and was impressed by the quality of the work and felt this would help to bring school spirit into the building.  One of the murals will be a lifelike portrait of Montgomery Blair.  The installation of the murals will take 3 days and it will be done at the end of the school year.

Mr. Gainous has reported that with the removal of the portables the 8 minute passing time will be reduced to 6 minutes.  This will also allow for an advisory period within the academies, building on the smaller learning community focus.  Each student will be assigned and advisory home room teacher within their academy.

Due to the reduction in enrollment projected for Blair, the following courses/curriculums have been reduced:  AP European History, SAT Prep, Percussion ensemble, the Choral program.  In addition 1 guidance staff person has been lost.  The numbers will be revisited at the DCC level over the summer.

Following the Principal's report, tokens in recognition of departing PTSA senior parents, and of Mr. Gainous contributions to Blair were presented by Deborah Stoll, outgoing PTSA President, and Dave Ottalini, incoming PTSA President.
