Facilitator: Dave Ottalini
Time Keeper: Bob Gillette
Recorder: Debra Reed-Gillette
Dave called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm.
All members are reminded to CLEARLY print their name on the sign-in sheet for each meeting.
The minutes for the November BoD meeting were approved as corrected.
After Prom: B&N Update -- 32 books were donated to the Media Center through the Barnes & Noble fundraiser.
Treasurer's Report: Nancy reported that we had a VERY successful Citrus sale with over $9500 brought in which exceeded the projection. All December expenses have been paid out to date. It has been very difficult locating the sponsors for budget line items. Bob has agreed to sit with Linda Wanner and help to identify all sponsors receiving money. It should not be so hard for the treasurer to "give away" the money to the recipients. It is suggested that Silver Chips be asked to do a story about where PTSA money benefits the school so sponsors contact the PTSA for their donations.
Volunteers: 1000 volunteer hours from 350 volunteers have been reported to the county. Both Silent Auction and Membership are still in need of support. We also need several class level liaisons.
Painless FundRaising: Carol reported that we have 268 Giant donators and 376 eScrip donators. Sniders receipts are due now – they are collected on a calendar year basis and must be tallied and grouped.
Directory: The student directory is in limbo. The data is still not received from MCPS. We are not the only school with this issue. Bob is contacting Cherie about the status of the data. We will brainstorm solutions about what we can request from the school for next year to bypass this issue – if possible. It is not known if we can get the data from any other source other than the "scrubbed" data file extract.
Pedestrian Safety/Traffic: Sam reported that he and Mr. Williams have been in contact with the state regarding the current speed limit, signage, and crosswalks. Hopefully something will come of the meeting. Mr. Williams is very receptive to assisting with these issues.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:33 pm to begin the Membership meeting prior to the music and mixer.
